Frequently asked questions
Answers to what teams most often ask before and after switching to ConvergePay Demo. Can't find it here — the contact form is just a click away.
Getting started
How long does onboarding take?
Most applications receive a decision within one business day. Once approved, connecting a checkout page or terminal typically takes another one to three business days, so most businesses are processing live payments within a week.
Do I need a developer to integrate?
No. The hosted checkout page and payment links work without writing code. Teams with a developer can use the API or prebuilt plugins for more control over the checkout experience.
Is there a free trial or sandbox?
Yes. Every account starts with a free sandbox that mirrors production, so you can test flows, webhooks and reporting before taking a single live payment.
Pricing & billing
Are there any setup or monthly fees on the Starter plan?
No. Starter has no setup fee and no monthly minimum — you only pay the per-transaction rate listed on the pricing section.
How do payouts and rolling reserves work?
Settled funds move to your linked bank account on the schedule you choose. New or higher-risk accounts may have a small rolling reserve held for a limited period, which is disclosed clearly before you go live.
Can I change plans later?
Yes, you can move between Starter, Growth and Scale at any time from your dashboard. Rate changes apply to transactions processed after the switch.
Security & compliance
Is this PCI DSS compliant?
The hosted checkout and terminals are built to keep raw card data off your servers, which significantly reduces your PCI compliance scope. A compliance summary is available in your dashboard once your account is active.
What happens when a transaction is flagged for review?
Flagged transactions are held, not declined outright. You will see the reason code in your dashboard and can approve, decline, or request more information from the customer.
How are chargebacks handled?
You are notified as soon as a dispute opens, with a deadline and a template response. Evidence can be submitted directly from the transaction detail page.
Support
What support is included by default?
Every plan includes email support with a same-business-day response target. Growth and Scale add live chat and phone support, and Scale includes a named account manager.
Do you offer support outside business hours?
Payment-critical issues, such as an outage or a stuck payout, are covered by an on-call team 24 hours a day, seven days a week regardless of plan.
